Rug Guide: simple tips for each room

Living room: make sure the front legs of the furniture are on the rug with at least 6” on each side of the furniture. Typical sizes are 8x10, 9x12 and 10x12.

Dining room: make sure the dining chairs are all on the rug around the entire table, with at least 8” on each side. Leave at least one foot of flooring around the perimeter of the room. Typical sizes are 6x9, 8x10 and 9x12

Bedrooms: leave at least 8” of space from the nightstands to the beginning of the rug. The rug should extend the bed by at least 1 foot. Typical size rug for a king size bed is 9x12. For a queen size bed, typical size rug is 8x10.

Hot Tip; Still not sure if the size is right? Use painters tape to outline the area you would like to cover! Measure the perimeter, and pick the nearest size available in your fav rug. Don’t forget to stay clear of floor vents!
